Noon's
brilliance made Nanette squint – the dazzling white sand, the turquoise sea.
Coconut oil and sea breeze scented her bronzed skin.
“Let’s
go inside.” Jacques urged,
his muscular body a heady enticement.
“No.”
“You
still mad?”
“Yep.” She had to stifle a purr as his
fingers traced over her shoulder.
“I’ve
already apologized twice.”
“Then,
do it again.”
Sensing
the thaw in her husky voice, he turned her face to him. “I will – inside.”
Nanette pouted.
“Better make it good.”
“Don’t I
always?” He drew her in,
tangling fingers in her hair, kissing her smile. Holiday apologies: Always worth the fight.
